Eric is Vietnam War veteran who, like so many combat veterans, experienced severe trauma, including the loss of over 30 friends. For nearly 50 years after serving in Vietnam, Eric lived an isolating existence, uninterested in making friends or socializing as he tried to combat the symptoms of PTSD on his own. Fast forward to today, Eric has an inspiring story of how he finally came to face the pain he’d been running from. He credits much of his transformation to the Inland Northwest Honor Flight, a nonprofit organization that funds trips to the war memorials in Washington D.C. That trip helped Eric finally learn to open up, to realize he's not alone, to share his stories of war, and encourage others to share theirs too.
