Diet culture has long normalized the chase for thinness as if it’s one of the most noble things to strive for (particularly for women). Dana grew up with the message loud & clear that women should be thin & she not only saw it in the media, she heard it most from her own father. It's not really a surprise then that Dana found herself struggling with bulimia at a young age. Her story reminds us to be aware of the toxic beliefs diet culture has put on us that can turn our lives into a hustle of chasing a number on a scale.
