As I sit here posting this, I have been moved to tears over and over this morning. My tears are of both joy and heartache. The joyful tears come from knowing so deeply the freedom that comes with owning your story, no matter how painful or shameful… and getting to see Paul be another person to discover this truth in his own life makes me so happy. The tears of heartache are for all of the people who are still silent in their suffering. They are for the people who send me messages saying they are terrified to let their story be known and they are for all the people who have gone to the grave, taking their secret with them, never being able to fully know the abundance and love this life could have offered if they had brought their shame into the light and owned ALL of their story.
